I'm trying really freakin` hard to be nice to my mom, but I'm losing ground and patience here. Because I hang out with my friends after marching band practice (yes, horrible thing to do... not being in my bed asleep by dark!), my mom says I've been partying. I go to the Downing University Center on campus to eat! Sheeish!

So tonight, a few of my friends and I are going over to an apartment another friend is watching to a dinner and talk about getting Sigma Alpha Ioda started on campus. I told my mom I was going so she wouldn't worry when I didn't answer the phone. I thought I was being nice and considerate, but oh no! "You never ask to do this stuff in high school, and now you just take it upon yourself to do it without asking."

Never and I mean never, have I given the argument "I'm 18 years old I can do what I want," but she's really pushing the limits now. Damn it, I haven't even been late for a class and she's treating me like I'm two!

The reality is simple... I am 18 years old, I am in college, and I am not living at home anymore!

I don't want to hurt my mom's feelings for anything in the world, but holy sweet people! I'm G-R-O-W-N!
